It's Not The World That Needs To Change

After a long hiatus from the Writer's Oasis, here I am again. I have been writing and working on a couple of things that will be published soon.
To my point: Have you ever taken a small pause and looked back from how far you have come in your personal development, and realised that nothing much has changed on the outside, but you are definitely a different person?
You find yourself doing some of the same things you are doing, but there's a change, and it inside you. You are thinking differently, you are seeing life differently. And because of that, everything feels new!
Real deep and inspiring change is like that - it is you who needs to change. Often, we get so caught up in our thoughts of desperation and outside-in thinking that we hope and wish and work for our circumstances to change. It's called outside-in thinking because we feel like we are lacking, we are not enough in of ourselves and that things should change outside for us to feel better. We want someone to feel pity on us, we want someone to walk into our lives and give us love and approval. We want a miracle to happen and money or what we want to somehow fall into our laps. In short, we are looking to the outside for something to come into our lives in order to feel complete.
But we notice that the world around us rarely changes, and if it does, it's rarely the way we want it to.
The reality is that we have the creativity, the love, the happiness, the inspiration and the ability to create for ourselves the life we want. Inside-out living. And when we bring it out, life takes on a whole new meaning. You see, it's not the world around you that needs to change. It is you who needs to change. In your thinking, in your skills, in your character, in your value to the world around you.
And ironically and 'miraculously', when your thinking changes, and everything inside of you changes, you begin to see the change in your world that you are wanting. It's an amazing connection. When you think positive, give out of your abundance (for everyone has this abundance), become happy from the inside, and make a difference in the world (as opposed to waiting for the world to make a difference for you); your circumstances begin to look like what you've always wanted!
Author and Motivational speaker Jim Rohn used to say, “Don't wish it was easier, wish you were better. Don't wish for less problems, wish for more skills. Don't wish for less challenge, wish for more wisdom.” And there's a similar African proverb: Don't pray for a lighter load, pray for a stronger back.
And when you change, your world changes. Thank you.
